Raquel Maldonado Ramos began showing her roots in music at the tender age of 3 years old. She started as a ballet dancer at the Talia Academy in Quebradillas PR. Born into a musical family, she follows in those footsteps of having a musical family of her own. Several of her relatives are musicians including her son, Reubben Fontanez currently vocalist of Funk Salsa Urban.
First making appearances at local festivals and community activities, she has appeared on Puerto Rico national shows on Telemundo and Wapa TV, as well as hundreds of stages. Raquel Maldonado was baptized by the composer Carlos Boliviano and El Periódico Identidad Latina as "The Lady of the Golden Voice."
Currently, she is the lead vocalist of her very own band, Raquel Y Su Nuevo Impacto Band. As a merenguera, and latina, she is a proud lifelong ambassador of our Puerto Rican culture and has supported cultural efforts in our region for decades, including helping organize the Puerto Rican Parade and former festival.
